01Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and ODBS LLC (“we”) for the Speakboth iPhone app, its online services and this website. Speakboth is licensed to you under Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/); these terms add the rules of our service. By using Speakboth you accept both. Our privacy policy explains how we handle data.

02Who can use Speakboth

You must be 18 or older to use Speakboth. It needs an iPhone with iOS 17 or later and an internet connection; offline translation needs iOS 18 or later and languages downloaded to your iPhone.

03AI translations

Speakboth translates text with AI provided by a third party or, offline, with Apple’s on-device translation, and writes notes on translations with AI. Translations and notes are generated automatically and can be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for the situation; the tone you pick changes the wording, and the camera can misread text. Check translations before you rely on them. Do not rely on Speakboth alone for medical, legal, financial, safety-related or other important matters; have such translations checked by a qualified person. Speakboth is not a certified or sworn translation service.

04Consent to AI processing

Online translation, camera translation and notes require your consent to send your content to our AI provider, as described in the AI processing consent. If you do not give it, or withdraw it, they are not available.

05Your content

You are responsible for the text and photos you translate and for how you use the translations. You keep any rights you have in your content, and you give us and our AI provider the permission needed to process it in order to translate it or write notes on it. Do not use Speakboth for anything unlawful, to harass or harm others, or to translate content you have no right to share. Do not misuse the service, for example by automating requests, getting around its limits or trying to copy or reverse engineer it.

06Speakboth Premium and subscriptions

Translating in Speakboth needs Speakboth Premium. Premium includes up to 2,000 requests a day, shared by text translation, camera translation and notes. Each online translation of typed text and each set of notes you ask for is one request; the camera sends the text it recognises in batches of lines and each batch is one request, so one photo can use several. Translations made offline on your iPhone do not count. The count starts again at midnight in your time zone, and the app shows how many you have left. The included features and limits may change; the app always shows your current plan.

Speakboth Premium is sold through Apple as an auto-renewing subscription, weekly or yearly. The weekly plan starts with a 3-day trial for eligible new subscribers; when the trial ends, it becomes a paid weekly subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. The price for your region and the billing period are shown in the app before you buy.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase or, with a trial, when the trial ends. A subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings (Settings, your name, Subscriptions). If you buy a subscription during a trial, any unused part of the trial ends. Deleting the app or your Speakboth account does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.

07Availability and fair use

We aim to keep Speakboth available but cannot promise that it will always work without interruption. Online translation, the camera and notes need our server and our AI provider, so they can be temporarily unavailable, for example during maintenance, when a provider fails or when our daily capacity is reached. To keep the service fair and secure, we limit how many requests an account or a network can make. We may change, add or remove features over time.

08Your account

Speakboth creates an account for you automatically. Keep access to your iPhone secure, because anyone who can use it can use your Speakboth account. You can delete your account in the app at any time (Settings); deleting it cannot be undone.

09Disclaimers and liability

Speakboth is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages or for decisions made on the basis of a translation. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

10Ending use

You can stop using Speakboth and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms or misuse the service.

11Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, and any dispute will be brought before the competent courts of Sheridan County, Wyoming, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country gives you a different forum.

12Changes to these terms

We will publish changes on this page and change the date above. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you in the app before it applies.
