Speakboth shows how many requests you have left today, so a limit never takes you by surprise. Text, camera and notes draw on the same daily requests, and one photo can use several; offline translation on your iPhone doesn't count. The count starts again at midnight in your time zone.

Your text is used to translate it. Nothing else.
Your consent comes first. Before your first translation, Speakboth asks for your consent to send your text, and the text your iPhone reads in photos, to a third-party AI provider.
Photos stay on your iPhone. The camera reads text on your iPhone. Only that text is sent to translate; the photo is never uploaded.
Not stored. Your text and its translation are used only to translate and are not stored on Speakboth's servers. Your history and favorites stay on your iPhone.
No sign-up. Speakboth starts without a name, an email address or a password.
No ads, no tracking. Speakboth shows no ads, contains no analytics tools and does not track you across apps or websites.

What can I translate with Speakboth?
Text you type or paste, up to 5,000 characters at a time, between 110 languages, and printed text such as menus, signs and labels with the camera, live or from a photo. You can pick the language you wrote in or let Speakboth detect it.
Which languages are included?
110 languages for text, including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. The camera and offline translation support fewer languages. The full lists are in the app's language pickers.
Can I rely on the translations?
Translations and notes are made by AI and can contain mistakes. For medical, legal or other important matters, have the translation checked by a qualified person.
Does Speakboth keep what I translate?
Not on its servers. After your consent, your text, or the text your iPhone reads in a photo, is sent to a third-party AI provider only to translate it, and Speakboth's servers store neither the text nor the translation. Photos never leave your iPhone, and your history and favorites are saved only on your iPhone. The privacy policy has the details.
Does Speakboth work without a connection?
For text, on iOS 18 or later: download your languages under Offline languages, and Speakboth translates text in those languages on your iPhone without sending it. Tones, the camera and notes need a connection.
Do I need a subscription?
Yes. Translating in Speakboth needs Speakboth Premium, an auto-renewing weekly or yearly subscription. The weekly plan starts with a 3-day trial for eligible new subscribers. The price is shown in the app before you buy.
How do I cancel?
Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Speakboth. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the trial or the current period.
Who can use Speakboth?
People aged 18 or older with an iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Offline translation needs iOS 18 or later.
